Tigers Secure Third Straight Win Saturday

 

San Antonio – Trinity's men's tennis team won its third straight match to open play on Saturday, defeating the University of Texas-Tyler 9-0.

Trinity (6-2) swept an opponent for the third time this season, winning all nine matches in straight sets. 

David Tran and Crisanto Ramirez scored an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles, while Tran and Ramirez also performed well in singles play.  Ramirez won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles, improving to 5-3 in singles on the year - matching the 5-3 doubles record posted by this same team.

Tran continued his hot start to the season with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, keeping his personal win streak intact.  Tran is 8-0 in singles this year.

Oliver Gaines, James Furr, and Varun Munjal all secured their fifth wins of the season.

Trinity will wrap up today's action with a match against Schreiner University this afternoon.
