The Tiger men's tennis team bounced back from yesterday's loss with a
5-4 win over Johns Hopkins University in the Consolation Round of the
ITA Indoor National Championships. Trinity
(2-3) won just two singles matches, but still pulled off the victory by
sweeping all three doubles matches.
Oliver Gaines and Ryan DeSantis won 8-6 at No. 1
doubles, while Bobby Cocanaugher and Cory Kowal won 8-5 at the No. 3
position. James Furr and David Tran won 8-3 in the second slot.
Furr and Cocanaugher won at No. 2 and No. 5
singles to help clinch the team's victory. Furr took a 7-5, 6-1
win, while Cocanaugher won 7-6, 6-3.
Trinity will face University of Mary Washington
for fifth place in the tournament later tonight. |
