Trinity's men's tennis team snapped its three-match losing streak with
an 8-1 win over the University of Texas-Dallas early Saturday afternoon.
Trinity (4-5) took two out of the three doubles
matches, then swept all six singles competitions to clinch the team win.
The match is the first of a Saturday doubleheader for the Tiger men, who
will face Schreiner later this afternoon.
Don Murray and Ben Carroll took the top doubles
match 8-4, while Crisanto Ramirez and John Runge won 8-2 at No. 3
doubles. Carroll, Ramirez, and Runge all became double winners on
the day, also securing their respective singles contests.
Andrew Hoing, Cory Kowal, and Max Frey also won
in singles for the Tiger men's team. Frey, who earned All-America
honors this past fall, improved to 4-4 on the season.
Following the Schreiner match this afternoon,
Trinity will next face defending junior college champions Laredo
Community College at home. |
