Coral Springs, Florida - Two of Trinity's
women's golf team members were named to the National Golf Coaches
Association All-American Scholar Team for their performance in the
classroom. According to the NGCA Web site,
"The criteria for selection to the All-America Scholar Team are some of
the most stringent in all of college athletics." Student-athletes
must hold a minimum GPA of 3.50, and must compete in two-thirds of the
school's competitions.
Trinity's honorees were Jamie Ehlinger and Paige
Cohick. In addition to earning this academic honor, both players
also earned spots on the 2004 All-Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference team. The All-SCAC team is awarded to the top 10
finishers at the SCAC Championship Tournament, which was hosted by
Hendrix College this past spring.
Head Coach Carla Spenkoch and Assistant Coach
Therese Bass led the Tiger women's team to a second-place finish at the
SCAC Championships. Trinity's men's team won its first conference
title since 1996. |
