Finishes Tied for 11th at Bruce Williams Memorial Tournament
San Antonio –
The Trinity University Tigers men finished in a tie for 11th
place Tuesday at the 54-hole, 17-team Bruce Williams Memorial
Invitational at The Dominion.
Trinity shot a final-round 305 for a 910 total.
The Tigers recorded a 295 in the opening round and 310 in the
second, at the par-72, 6,937-yard Dominion course. West Texas A&M
and Texas Wesleyan tied with Trinity. St. Mary’s University, the
host team, won the event with an 866.
The Tigers tied with Texas Wesleyan in birdies,
chalking up 32 over the two-day tournament. That mark was good for
sixth place in the category.
Tiger sophomore Ryan Barry shot a 74 in the final
round, for a 226 total and a No. 33 finish. First-year golfer Warren
Taylor tied for 34th place, with a third-round 76 and a
227 total. Right behind Taylor was senior Nash Kassam at 228
(final-round 78), a 228 total and a tie for 37th place.
Senior Chase Clayton registered a 77 and a 234 total, tying for the
No. 57 slot. Senior Jonathan Alden made an 86 for a three-round 240
and 75th place.
Trinity will next compete Monday, Oct. 5, and
Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the 36-hole UMHB Fall Intercollegiate at the
Mill Creek Country Club in Salado. |
