Barry Tied for
Second, Team Fourth After Opening Round at UMHB
Salado, Texas –
The Tirnity men's golf team shot a two-round total of 606 to finish
eight at the UMHB Fall Invitational at Mill Creek Country Club on
Tuesday.
Trinity finished three strokes ahead of
Hardin-Simmons and seven in front of UT-Dallas. The Tigers
were just one shot behind Paris Community College for seventh place,
and just five shy of sixth-place Lon Morris Community College.
There were 18 teams competing in the two-day event, which was won by
Tyler Junior College.
Tiger sophomore Ryan Barry shot a final-round
three-over-par 74, tying for sixth place with his total of 145 for
the tournament. Senior Jonathan Alden shot a 73 today and a
146 for the tournament, finishing in a tie for eighth place.
First-year Warren Taylor scored a total of 150 for the tournament,
tying for 23rd place.
Trinity concludes its fall season next Monday and
Tuesday by hosting the 36-hole Alamo City Classic at River Crossing
Golf Club in nearby Spring Branch. |
