Trinity Wraps Regular Season With Road Win

Abilene, Texas – Trinity's men's tennis team won its sixth consecutive match with a 7-2 road victory over Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday.

Trinity (14-3) swept the three doubles matches, then won four out of six singles matches to secure the regular-season-ending win.  Hardin-Simmons falls to 12-6 with the loss.

David Tran kept ahead of Varun Munjal for the team lead in singles wins this season, as both players earned straight-set wins.  Tran is now 14-1 in singles play, while Munjal is 13-3.

James Furr and D.J. Petros are tied with Tran and Crisanto Ramirez with 12 doubles wins this season, but Furr and Petros have only lost three times - compared to four losses for Tran and Ramirez.

Ramirez and Petros also won their singles matches, while Oliver Gaines and Ryan DeSantis won at No. 1 doubles to improve to 11-5 as a team.

Trinity will play in the SCAC Championships next weekend in Waco, Texas.  The Tigers will likely be the top seed in the tournament, which runs from April 27-29, and will decide the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs.
