Trinity Defeats Southwestern to Open Saturday

 

San Antonio – Trinity's men's tennis team won its fourth consecutive match with a 9-0 sweep of Southwestern University on Saturday at Delavan Tennis Stadium.

Trinity (12-3) has won nine of its last 10 contests, with the only loss coming to fourth-ranked Claremont on March 23.

The doubles teams of D.J. Petros/James Furr and David Tran/Crisanto Ramirez won for the 11th time this season on Saturday.  All four players also scored wins in singles play while Tran is leading the team with a 13-1 singles record this season.

Varun Munjal won his 12th singles match to stay one behind Tran for the team lead, while Furr's singles victory was the 10th of the season for him. 

Trinity will face Austin College this afternoon to wrap up Saturday's action.
