The Trinity University men’s
tennis team, ranked No. 15 in the NCAA Division III, won its fifth
straight match with an 8-1 victory over the Hardin-Simmons University
Cowboys Friday. Trinity,
ranked No. 3 in the West Region, improved to 10-7. Hardin-Simmons is
ranked No. 13 in the region.
The Tigers won all three doubles
matches. Bobby Cocanougher and Cory Kowal won No. 1 doubles, Andrew
Hoing and Crisanto Ramirez took No. 2 and Max Frey and Don Murray were
winners in the third doubles.
Frey won No. 1 singles and
Cocanougher took No. 2 and John Runge was the winner at No. 3. Trey
Chavez of Hardin-Simmons beat Andrew Hoing at No. 4 singles. Kowal and
Ramirez took Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
Trinity will play at the University
of the Incarnate Word, in San Antonio, on Friday, April 17, at 3 p.m.
