| Austin, Texas–
The Tiger men's tennis team was downed in a 6-3 decision to St. Edward's
University on Friday afternoon. Trinity
(1-2) lost for the second straight time on Friday, with all three
matches being played away from home so far this year. The Tigers
took two of the three doubles matches for a promising start, but St.
Edward's won five of the six singles contests to clinch the win.
Andrew Hoing teamed with Crisanto Ramirez to win
8-6 in No. 3 doubles, then Hoing took a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles to
help the Tigers to two of the team's three points. Don Murray and
Ben Carroll won at No. 2 doubles for the third point.
All-Americans Bobby Cocanougher and Cory Kowal
lost 8-3 in No. 1 doubles, and the duo that has won two straight ITA
Regional Doubles titles also lost in singles.
Trinity opens up the home portion of its schedule
with two matches tomorrow. The Tigers begin the day at 11:00 a.m.
against the University of Incarnate Word, then finish with an afternoon
