....Charlie Casuto joins the Tiger aquatics staff with a wealth of experience and knowledge at the collegiate coaching level.  Coach Casuto comes to Trinity from Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was involved in coaching since 1969.  He was the Head Coach of the Cincinnati Stingrays from 1969 until earlier this year, and was the University of Cincinnati Head Coach from 1974-2003.  Coach Casuto is also a diving coach with the Alamo Area Aquatic Association.  Coach Casuto is a life member of United States Diving, and is a member of the Olympic International Committee, as well as being a member of the University of Cincinnati Athletic Hall of Fame (class of 1997). 

....While at Cincinnati, he was named the Metro Conference Coach of the Year four straight years (1986-89), and was the NCAA Coach of the Year in 1989.  Coach Casuto coached 19 NCAA All-Americans during his tenure with the Bearcats, and had divers qualify for the Olympic Trials in 1988, 1992, and 1996.  In 1996, one of his divers (Becky Ruehl) finished fourth in the 1996 Olympic 10 meter platform event. 

....Ruehl and teammate Angie Trostel claimed nine US Senior National Diving Championship titles, and 16 of Coach Casuto's Cincinnati Stingray divers qualified for the US Senior National Diving Team under his leadership.    With the Stingrays, Casuto won four US Junior National Championship team titles (1983, 1984, 1986, and 1994) and finished runners-up nine times (1980, 1981, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1991, 1993, and 1995).  Coach Casuto developed 35 National Age-Group Champions and five World Age-Group Champions while with the Stingrays program.  His divers also won a total of 2 Ohio High School State Championships between 1974 and 2003, and his divers earned High School All-American recognition on 45 occasions.

....Coach Casuto, along with Coach Randall, bring an incredible amount of talent and expertise to the Trinity swimming & diving coaching staff, and will be looking to bring the Tiger diving teams to great prominence in the near future.
