Two Trinity softball players earned Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-West
Region honors this season. Sophomore
pitcher Erin Mulvey finished the season with an 18-3 record, and an ERA
of 1.07 to go with a school and conference record 154 strikeouts.
She was named to the All-West Region Second Team. Mulvey recorded
six shutouts on the season, as well as helping the team to two more.
She threw one no-hitter this year, and opponents hit just .199 against
her.
Sophomore Stephanie Priester was named to the
All-West Region Third Team after leading the Tigers with a .372 batting
average and 28 RBI. Priester was also second on the team in
on-base percentage and slugging percentage this season.
Both players were also named to the All-SCAC
First Team this season. Mulvey was named the SCAC Pitcher of the
Year, while Priester earned SCAC Player of the Year honors.
Head Coach Roland Rodriguez, who just finished
his fifth season with the Tigers, led Trinity to its fifth overall SCAC
Championship in seven years - and its third under his direction.
Rodriguez holds an overall record of 127-83 in his career, and has also
led the team to three NCAA playoff appearances. This year, he led
the Tigers to a third place finish at the NCAA West Regional Tournament,
which was the best finish in school history.
