Gatton Just Misses Consolation Finals on Friday

Oxford, Ohio – Trinity University senior Leta Gatton of Brownsville (Hanna) finished No. 17 Friday in the 200-yard freestyle event at the NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships at Miami University.

Gatton swam the event in 1 minute, 54.65 seconds, just .13 seconds from making the cut for the consolation final. She will compete in the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday.

Competing in the 3-meter diving are first-year Hayley Emerick of Portland, Texas (Gregory-Portland), and senior Lauren Walstad of Katy (Katy).  Emerick was ninth in yesterday's 1-meter competition, while Walstad finished 14th.
