A note from Coach Ryan...
Holiday greetings to all of the fans and friends of
Trinity Swimming & Diving. The fall semester has gone well -
highlights included the Lake Travis 12-mile Open Water Relay, our men's
team showing at the
Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in November, both teams' terrific
performances at the
Dallas Collegiate Invitational just before Thanksgiving and the
divers' exemplary performance at the Wabash Invite in December. We
weathered final exams and finished 2006 with another wonderful trip to
La Loma in San Luis
Potosi, Mexico.
We
are about to begin session two of our winter training camp here in San
Antonio. The
SCACs and the NCAAs are fast approaching, so there's lots of work
left for us to do in the coming weeks.
Coach Randall, Coach Bos and I are excited about our
upcoming championship meets. We look forward to meeting and/or
continuing to communicate over the next several weeks with those of you
considering attending Trinity.
We wish you all the
best in 2007!
-

Trinity University Alumna Profile

Name:
Leslie Weeter
Year Graduated: 2000
Major: Double Major in Biology & Spanish
Post-graduate degree obtained: Masters of Science in
Psychology from the University of Louisville
Current Occupation: Research Technologist II, Kosair Children's
Hospital, University of Louisville
Best TU Swimming memory: "...going to
conference and performing well after a tough year of training.
It proved to me that all the hard work I put into the season really
paid off."
What was the best part of your time at TU?
"...the small class sizes and the fact that the teachers were
friendly, approachable and cared about their students."
How did Trinity prepare you for what you are doing
now? "TU prepared me very well. Had I gone to a public
university, I don't think I would have been as prepared for graduate
school as I was. I learned so much in the classes at Trinity...
more than I realized (at the time)."
Advice to prospective TU student-athletes:
"I'm so grateful for swimming in college because it is now providing
me with a skill that I use today. I swim, run and bike... and
am working toward excelling in triathlons."

What I like about TU: "Trinity students are amazing and the
main reason is that there really is something for everyone.
The majority of students will be degreed in more than one field upon
graduation and six out of 10 students are involved with Greek life
or varsity athletics."
What I like most about Trinity Swimming: "The team members are
great; you'll find a lot in common with other swimmers at Trinity.
We train together, oftentimes eat and hang out together; it's like a
family."
Overall: "For a balance among challenging academics, a great
swimming atmosphere, a fun social life and beautiful surroundings,
Trinity is the place to be."
