Trinity Sweeps Team Championships and Individual Honors at Track & Field Championships
Trinity University swept the men's and women's Track & Field SCAC Championships, which wrapped up Saturday afternoon at E.M. Stevens Stadium.  Trinity's Emily Loeffler and Zach Byars also garnered Athlete of the Year honors, garnering the most individual points.  Byars won for the second straight year.  Event results and team results are now available.  Byars scored 39 points, followed by teammates Todd Wildman (33) and Anthony Hicks (24.5).  Hicks was tied with Greg Cook of Rhodes College for third.  In the women's meet, Loeffler scored 40 points to lead the way, followed by Kristin Forbes of Rhodes (35) and Trinity's Amy Stoy (30.5).

Christyn Schumann, a recent graduate of Trinity University, has been selected as one of nine finalists for the prestigious 2006 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

Trinity University’s Christyn Schumann, a four-time Division III women’s high jump champion, has received a $7,500 Postgraduate Scholarship from the NCAA.

Trinity's Schumann is Three-Time Division III High Jump Champion
Trinity University senior Christyn Schumann won her third consecutive NCAA Division III women’s outdoor high jump championship Friday, at Benedictine University - the site of the 2006 championships. Schumann jumped 5 feet, 9.75 inches (1.77 meters).

        Scoring will use the eight-place scoring system (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) in individual and relay events.

        Finals will be run in the 800 meters, running the 12 fastest times together with the fastest heat last.

No preliminaries will be run in the 1,500 meters. If there are more than 15 runners competing, the race will be divided into two equal heats with the fastest heat last.

        Starting heights for the following events are:

               High Jump – Women at 4’4" / Men at 5’8"

               Pole Vault – Women at 7’0" / Men at 10’0"
