San
Antonio - Emory University, the top seed in the Trinity Regional,
earned a 3-1 victory over Colorado College at the NCAA Division III
Women's Volleyball Regional Semifinals on Friday afternoon at Trinity
University.
Emory
(31-6) lost the first set 23-25, then held on to win 27-25 and 26-24 in
the next two. The Eagles finished off the match with a 25-13 win
in the fourth set.
Dani
Huffman led Emory with a solid double-double, collecting 19 kills and 14
digs. Vista Murphy led the team with four aces and also finished
with 14 digs, while Brannan O'Neill had a team-high 17 digs for the
Eagles. Alysse Meyer finished with 15 kills and a .361 hitting
percentage for the Eagles. Natalie Schonefeld tallied 41 assists
to go with nine digs and six kills in the match.
Colorado
College was led by Annie Bernacchi's double-double, scoring 22 assists
and 13 digs. Emily Perkins led the Tigers with 16 kills and a .357
hitting percentage, while Anna Clithero finished with 14 kills.
Hannah Varnell finished with 12 digs for Colorado College.
Emory will
face the winner of tonight's Southwestern and Trinity match, which will
take place later this evening. |
