Trinity Defeats Abilene Christian to Open Tournament

San Antonio - Trinity's volleyball team defeated Abilene Christian University 3-1 to open its part in the Alamo City Classic on Saturday afternoon.

Trinity (2-0) won 30-15, 21-30, 30-18, and 30-21 to stay unbeaten this season.  Abilene Christian defeated Incarnate Word 3-1 yesterday to open the tournament.

Megan Dudley led the team with 10 kills, and also tied for the team lead with three service aces.  Also with three aces were Megan Guest, Sara Buros, and Katelyn Kershner.

Guest also led the team with 14 digs, while Buros added 11 digs and four blocks for the Tigers.  Leslie Schornack finished with a team-best six blocks to go with eight kills.

Caroline Keener finished with 33 assists and nine kills, hitting .643 in the match.

Trinity will host Tarleton State University later this evening.
