Trinity Wins River City Classic by Beating Cortland

 

San Antonio - Trinity's volleyball team wrapped up the Trinity River City Classic with a 3-1 win over Cortland State on Saturday afternoon.

Trinity (8-1) won 30-22, 30-20, 22-30, and 30-23 to clinch the tournament victory. Megan Dudley and Caroline Keener were named to the All-Tournament Team for their performances.

Keener finished with 38 assists in this match, also collecting six kills and three digs. Dudley finished with 12 kills to go with four digs and a pair of blocks.

AVCA All-American Sara Buros led the way with 13 kills in this match, also tallying 18 digs and four blocks. She narrowly missed a rare triple-double with eight service aces in the match, and with six assists, she wasn't too far from a quadruple-double.

Megan Guest totaled 26 digs to lead the Tiger defense, while Leslie Schornack finished with six blocks. Katelyn Kershner added 10 digs for Trinity as well.

Trinity will open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play next weekend at the SCAC West-Central Tournament at Colorado College.
