Tigers Open Saturday With Win Over Cowgirls

San Antonio - Trinity's volleyball team opened up the second day of action at the River City Classic with a 3-1 win over Hardin-Simmons.

Trinity (7-1) won 30-23, 32-30, 24-30, and 30-20 on Saturday afternoon.

Caroline Keener finished with 45 assists, while Megan Dudley had 18 kills.  Both figures led the team in their respective categories.

Leslie Schornack led the way with seven blocks, while Megan Guest tallie 28 digs.  Sara Buros had three service aces to lead the Tigers.

Trinity faces Cortland State this afternoon with the chance to seal the tournament victory.  If the Tigers win, they will clinch the tournament victory.  If Cortland wins, unofficial records indicate that they would have to do so with a sweep to win the tournament.
