Trinity Downs Pacific Lutheran to Finish Friday's Action

 

San Antonio - Trinity's volleyball team earned a 3-2 victory over Pacific Lutheran University on Friday night, enjoying some historic individual achievements in the process.

The Tigers won 29-31, 30-27, 30-27, 29-31, and 16-14 in a very close match throughout. 

Caroline Keener recorded a triple-double for Trinity, finishing with 10 kills, 10 digs, and 51 assists in the match.  Also with a stellar night defensively was Megan Guest, who turned in a 33-dig performance that ranks fifth all-time for a single match.

Leslie Schornack hit better than .400 in the match, tallying 14 kills to go with a team-best 10 blocks.  The 10 blocks are the second-most in her career, and rank in the top 10 for a single match.

Megan Dudley led the team with 17 kills, hitting .432 overall and recording five blocks.  Guest, Keener, Sara Buros, and Katelyn Kershner all finished with two aces.  Buros also had 15 digs, while Joni Jacobi finished with 14 total.

Trinity will take on Hardin-Simmons and Cortland State to finish off the tournament tomorrow.
