Tigers Complete Season Sweep of Bulldogs

 

San Antonio - Trinity's volleyball team won its 14th consecutive match by beating Texas Lutheran University 3-0 on Wednesday night at Sams Gymnasium.

Trinity (17-1) defeated Texas Lutheran 3-1 in Seguin, Texas, earlier this season, and won 30-24, 30-22, and 30-19 in tonight's match.

Sara Buros led the Tigers to victory with a team-best nine kills and three service aces.  She also finished with 11 digs and a pair of blocks in the three games.  Buros recorded just one error in 19 attacks, finishing with a .421 hitting percentage.

Leslie Schornack recorded eight kills and a .368 hitting percentage for Trinity, while Caroline Keener tallied 28 assists and five digs. 

Aly Hazelwood and Megan Guest paced the defense with four blocks and 16 digs, respectively.  Both players also added two service aces.

Trinity, ranked fifth in the latest AVCA national poll, will face Hendrix and Birmingham-Southern on Saturday at Rhodes College, followed by Sunday matches with Millsaps and nationally-ranked Southwestern.
