Trinity Finishes Weekend by Beating Colorado College

 

San Antonio - Trinity's volleyball team finished off the weekend with a 3-1 win over Colorado College, securing the team's first unbeaten regular season of SCAC play since 2004.

Trinity (26-1, 15-0) won its 23rd consecutive match by taking the first two games 30-24 and 30-22.  Colorado College won 30-28 in the third, but Trinity avoided game five with a 30-24 win in the fourth.

Sara Buros recorded her eighth double-double of the season, leading the team with 18 kills and a .450 hitting percentage.  Buros also tallied 14 digs and six blocks, and recorded zero hitting errors in 40 total attempts.

Aly Hazelwood finished with 11 kills to go with her team-high seven blocks in the match, adding four digs and a pair of service aces.  Katelyn Kershner led the team with three aces.

Caroline Keener had 51 assists and six kills for the Tigers, while Leslie Schornack chipped in with 10 kills and a pair of blocks.

Trinity will play in an Alumni Match next weekend, then the team will wrap the regular season with the Trinity University National Invitational on October 26-27.
