Trinity Defeats DePauw to Open Weekend

Danville, Kentucky - Trinity's volleyball team opened the weekend's SCAC East-West Tournament with a 3-0 win over DePauw University on Saturday afternoon.

Trinity (13-1, 5-0) won 30-26, 30-18, and 30-26 to remain unbeaten in conference play so far this season.  The win was also the 10th consecutive victory for the team.

Aly Hazelwood had a standout match for Trinity, leading the team in three different categories.  Hazelwood led the way with eight blocks and three service aces, as well as tying for the team lead with 10 kills.

Leslie Schornack, reigning SCAC Player of the Week, also finished with 12 kills in the match.

Joni Jacobi finished with 30 digs to lead the defensive effort, and Caroline Keener managed 40 assists in just three games.

Trinity will face Sewanee later this afternoon, followed by matches against hosting Centre College and Southwestern University tomorrow.
