Trinity Beats DePauw to Open SCAC Saturday

San Antonio - Trinity's volleyball team opened up the second day of action at the SCAC East-West Divisional with a 3-0 victory over DePauw University.

Trinity (25-1, 14-0) won 31-29 and 32-30 in two hard-fought games to start things off, then finished off the sweep with a 30-21 victory in game three.

Alexis Edwards finished with 20 digs for the Tigers, while Megan Guest and Sara Buros had 13 and 11, respectively.  Guest also led the team with two service aces.

Caroline Keener recorded 29 assists, while Caiti Troyer finished with 15 assists in just one game.  Amy Mittelstaedt led Trinity with 14 kills, while Leslie Schornack finished with nine kills and a .316 hitting percentage.  Schornack also had two blocks to lead the way.

Trinity will conclude the tournament - and its regular season SCAC schedule - later this afternoon against Colorado College.
