Trinity Downs Oglethorpe Friday Evening

 

San Antonio - The Tiger volleyball team won for the 21st consecutive match on Friday night, defeating Oglethorpe University 3-0 at the SCAC East-West Divisional.

Trinity (24-1, 13-0) won 30-16, 30-15, and 30-19 in the match.  Head Coach Julie Jenkins, who won her 600th match at Trinity, secured her 200th SCAC victory in the process.

Sara Buros led the team with seven kills, but three other players recorded six kills in the three games.  Leslie Schornack had six kills and a .462 hitting percentage, Megan Dudley tallied six kills and a .625 hitting percentage, and Aly Hazelwood finished with six kills and an .857 hitting percentage.

Caroline Keener led the team with 24 assists in two games, while Caiti Troyer finished with 12 assists in one game.  Katelyn Kershner led Trinity with eight digs in the match. 

In addition to her outstanding hitting percentage, Hazelwood also had three service aces, while both Schornack and Ginger Haley led the team with three blocks.

Trinity will take on DePauw and Colorado College tomorrow afternoon, wrapping up the final day of action at the SCAC-East West Tournament.
