Trinity's volleyball team opened up the second day of action at the SCAC
Central-West Tournament with a 3-1 win over Rhodes College on Saturday.
Trinity (11-1, 3-0) lost the
first game 26-30, but bounced back with convincing wins of 30-9, 30-12,
and 30-17 in the final three matches.
Leslie Schornack led the team
to the come-from-behind victory, pacing the team on offense and defense.
Schornack tied for the team lead with 13 kills and three service aces,
and then had six blocks to lead Trinity.
Micaeli Smith also finished
with 13 kills, while Megan Guest added three service aces of her own.
Joni Jacobi led Trinity with 19 digs.
Caroline Keener recorded her
fifth match of the year with 40 or more assists, tallying 42 in this
Trinity win.
The Tigers conclude the
tournament this afternoon against Austin College. |
