Trinity Sweeps Rhodes to Finish First Day of Action

Birmingham, Alabama - The Tiger volleyball team finished off the first day of action at the SCAC West-Central Tournament with a 3-0 sweep of Rhodes College on Saturday.

Trinity (19-6, 9-0) won with relative ease, taking each game by at least 10 points.  The Tigers won 25-14, 25-15, and 25-14 to stay unbeaten in the SCAC.

Megan Dudley led the team with another double-double, collecting a team-high in both kills (12) and digs (15).  Dudley also hit .345 for the match, committing just two errors in 29 attempts.

Amy Mittelstaedt hit .556 in the match, finishing with 11 kills and just one error; while Tayler Malloy had 10 kills and a .391 hitting percentage. 

Caiti Troyer led Trinity with 35 assists in the match, leading the team to an impressive .422 hitting percentage overall.  Troyer also had four kills and eight digs.

Emily Hilliard had 10 digs to go with her team-best five service aces, while Megan Guest also added 14 digs for Trinity.  Ginger Haley and Aly Hazelwood joined Troyer with two blocks each to lead the team.

Trinity faces off against Birmingham-Southern and Austin College in tomorrow's action.
