Tigers Open SCAC Tournament Play by Beating Millsaps

 

Sherman, Texas - Trinity's volleyball team opened play at the SCAC Championships Tournament with a 3-0 win over Millsaps College on Friday afternoon.

Trinity (32-2) won 30-16, 30-19, and 33-31 to advance to the semifinals tomorrow.  The Tigers will face DePauw University for the chance to play for the conference title tomorrow night.

Caroline Keener finished with 38 assits, while Megan Guest recorded 16 digs.  Keener also finished with four blocks, but the Tigers were led by Aly Hazelwood's five blocks on Friday.

Sara Buros finished with 14 kills and eight digs, while Micaeli Smith recorded 12 kills for Trinity. 

Trinity, the tournament's top seed, will take on fifth seed DePauw at 11:15 a.m. tomorrow.  The winner will play in the championship match at 8:15 p.m.
