Danville, Kentucky -
Trinity's volleyball team finished off the first day of the SCAC
East-West Tournament with a 3-0 win over the University of the
South-Sewanee on Saturday.
Trinity (14-1, 6-0) won 30-10,
30-5, and 30-17 in the match, staying atop the SCAC standings.
Micaeli Smith led the team
with 12 kills overall, while Caiti Troyer recorded 32 assists for
Trinity.
Megan Guest and Ginger Haley
led Trinity's defensive effort, leading the way in blocks and digs.
Guest finished with 11 digs, while Haley had a team-high three blocks.
Alexis Edwards recorded a
team-best four service aces as well.
Trinity will face tournament
host Centre College and nationally-ranked Southwestern University in
tomorrow's action. The Tigers, ranked fifth in the nation, will
play the 18th-ranked Pirates at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. |
