Tigers Open With Win Over Bulldogs on Friday

Seguin, Texas - Trinity's volleyball team opened the 2007 season with a 3-1 win over Texas Lutheran University on Friday evening.

Trinity (1-0) won 36-34, 26-30, 32-30, and 30-27 in a hard-fought match by both teams.

American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American Sara Buros led the team with 15 digs and seven blocks, while junior setter Caroline Keener finished with 49 assists and two service aces to lead the team.

Megan Guest also recorded two aces to tie Keener for the top spot, and junior outside hitter Megan Dudley led the way with 17 kills in the match.

Trinity will co-host the Alamo City Classic with Incarnate Word this weekend, opening play tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. against Abilene Christian University.  The Tigers then take on Tarleton State University at 6:00 p.m. that evening.
