San Antonio -
The Tiger volleyball team swept a non-conference match against
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday evening.
Trinity (27-1) won 30-18,
30-18, and 30-22 in the match, securing the team's 24th consecutive
victory.
Sara Buros led the team with
eight kills and a .429 hitting percentage, while Alexis Edwards and
Leslie Schornack had seven kills each. Schornack led the team with
three blocks as well.
Caroline Keener finished with
27 assists in two games, while Caiti Troyer had 14 assists in one game.
Keener also had five kills and three service aces, giving her over 100
aces in her career. She is the 22nd Tiger player to reach the
milestone.
Joni Jacobi and Megan Guest
recorded eight digs each to lead the team, while Edwards added seven
digs of her own. Aly Hazelwood tallied five aces to lead the team,
also contributing five kills and four digs in the match.
Trinity faces Huston-Tillotson
later tonight. The Tigers will also play in an Alumni Match on
Saturday, then will host the Trinity National Invitational next weekend. |
