Trinity's volleyball team opened up day two of the tough Puget Sound
Invitational with a 3-1 win over hosting University of Puget Sound on
Saturday afternoon.
Trinity (4-3) won the opening
game 26-24, but Puget Sound rallied for a 25-23 win in game two.
The Tigers, though, finished off the match with 25-17 and 25-15 wins in
games three and four, dropping Puget Sound to 5-2 on the year.
Caroline Keener finished with
a double-double to lead the Tigers, posting 40 assists and 10 digs in
the match. She also had two blocks and two kills in the win.
Megan Dudley hammered out 18
kills to lead the team, while Amy Mittelstaedt finished with 14 kills
and eight digs. Dudley also hit .333 in the match, committing just
four errors in 42 attacks.
Megan Guest and Mittelstaedt
both had two aces to lead the team, while Ginger Haley's six blocks were
a team-best for the match. Guest also led the way with 18 digs,
while Alexis Edwards and Emily Hilliard added 14 and 11 digs,
respectively.
Trinity finishes off the
weekend with a match against the University of Redlands later in the
day. |
