Trinity Unable to Hold Off Western New Mexico

San Antonio - The Tiger volleyball team built a 2-0 lead on Saturday afternoon, but was unable to finish off the victory in a 3-2 loss to Western New Mexico University.

Trinity (1-2) won 25-22 and 25-20 to open play, then suffered a narrow 24-26 defeat in game three.  Western New Mexico rolled from there, winning 25-12 and 15-6 to clinch the match.

Megan Dudley and Megan Guest both had strong efforts once again to lead Trinity.  Dudley finished with 13 kills and 22 digs for her third double-double in as many tries this season.  Guest ripped six service aces and recorded 28 digs.

Caroline Keener finished with 35 assists and 12 digs, while Ginger Haley had six blocks to lead the team.  Alexis Edwards also added 12 digs.

The Tigers will finish off the 2008 Alamo City Classic with an afternoon match against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
