Conference weekend sweep by defeating Millsaps College 90-60 on Sunday
afternoon.
Trinity (17-5, 11-2) led 42-28
at the half, holding Millsaps to less than 30% shooting. The
Tigers hit 50% from the field in the second period, and forced 28 total
turnovers in the game.
Millsaps never led in the game,
as Trinity slowly pulled away to a 19-7 lead in the first nine minutes
of the game, and led by as many as 19 in the first period.
The halftime margin was the
closest Millsaps would get the rest of the game, and a 13-1 second half
run by Trinity put the home team up by 28 points with just over 11
minutes remaining.
Krista Prato Matthews led the
Tigers with her sixth 20-point game of the season, finishing with 22
