I Don't Know What to Say: October 3-5

So this past weekend was rather fun. We got two more shutouts, won two more games. We got some manpri’s in our lockers to wear (Kristina looks hot in them don’t worry). My parents were in town…and they watched us play Austin College Friday under the lights. We pretty much possessed the ball for 85% of the game, but struggled to finish. I mean, we had 32 shots (or so Lance told us). That is ridiculous. I’m pretty sure Austin College was playing a 1-9. Needless to say they were very effective in not letting us score. Not to say we didn’t have good chances. There was many a cross that no one got on the end of during the 90 minutes of regulation. There was a PK that we missed, too. After that one I began praying a lot harder for a goal.  As I ran aimlessly up and down the sideline  (note: please do not take this to heart Lance and Paul) when the ball stays on the other side of the field for, like, ever…I tried not to think of what would happen if we lost. It wasn’t an option. Simple as that. I had no doubts we were going to win…why it took us until we had 3:01 left in second overtime…only the Lord knows. Exciting news though…I scored the game-winning goal! I was really happy my parents could see it…as it would have been hard to retell because I barely remember how it happened (don’t judge me). But I pretty much just cut inside and was in the box dribbling until a defender came…then I hit it with my left foot and it went in. And I stood there with my hands up not sure what to do, but very thankful that the Lord blessed us with a goal, and very thankful that I could go see my parents finally  (who I haven’t seen in a few months). But then the entire team rushed me and I couldn’t breathe…but that was okay…because breathing isn’t all that important anyways for an outside midfielder. Needless to say, it was a fun way to win.

Then turn the tables…on Sunday we couldn’t stop scoring. Playing University of Dallas was frustrating. We had the ball pretty much the entire time unless we messed up. Then they kicked it, or we won it back. So we played in one half of the field. And we scored eight goals. But won 9-0. We were doing so much scoring they wanted in on the action and scored on themselves for the last one. Surprising/amazing is the fact that all of our eight goals were scored by different people. Alex Leamy with the game-winner… then Chelsea Wilson, Grace Rizza, Abby Loar, Ally Hunter, Danika Wright (finally with her feet!), Dana Carter, and Lauren Folkman…whew. That is a lot of names to write. It was difficult for me to play because I felt so bad for the other team, and now I hope they never read this because I just said that. But…good work Trinity Tigresses! We move forward to play Ogelthorpe this Friday (I would say Sewanee, too, but we are not supposed to talk about any other games besides the next one)…and guess what?!? It’s Alumni Weekend! Hurray for seeing people who graduated! I always wonder if I’ll make it back for Alumni Weekend. Maybe when I am old…like really old…and I will come back and play in the alumni game and probably break a hip and regret my decision of playing as a really old person. Sorry for the tangent…
