Trinity Downs Austin With Second Half Score

Sherman, Texas - Trinity's women's soccer team won its only game of the week with a second half goal at Austin College on Sunday afternoon, earning a seventh consecutive victory.

Trinity (9-3, 4-0) and Austin were locked in a tough defensive battle through the first 73 minutes, as neither team was able to find the back of the net.  The Tigers controlled the tempo for most of the game, out-shooting the 'Roos 17-7 overall.

In the 74th minute, Brianna Young was able to take a cross from Julia Zangirolami and head it in for the game-winning score.  The goal was the eighth of the season for Young, who leads the Tigers in scoring this year.

Jennifer Fifield secure the team's fifth overall shutout, and the second for Fifield on the year.  She recorded one save in the game.

The Tigers are now 3-2 in one-goal games this season, having won each of the last three.

Trinity returns home this weekend for two important SCAC games against DePauw and Centre.  The two visiting teams head into the weekend just three points behind tri-SCAC leaders Rhodes, Southwestern, and Trinity.
