Trinity Posts Second Straight Shutout in Win Over Hendrix

San Antonio - The Tiger women's soccer team posted its second consecutive shutout in a 6-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Hendrix College on Friday night.

Trinity (7-3-0, 2-0-0) scored three goals in each period on its way to a fifth straight victory.  The Tigers returned home for the first time in nearly a month, having last played at Trinity on September 9th.

Bekah Gabay scored the eventual game-winning goal in the fifth minute, followed by first half goals from Brianna Young and Michelle Grambeau.  Grambeau's goal was unassisted, while Young got an assist from Jennifer Wray.

Less than five minutes into the second period, Alex Leamy made it 4-0 for the Tigers, assisted by both Julia Zangirolami and Lauren Douglass.  Clare Wilmore converted on a corner from Chelsea Wilson in the 61st minute, and Ashley Pierce capped the scoring with a goal in the 80th minute.  Grace Rizza assisted on the final goal.

Jennifer Fifield and Alexandra Blake combined for the shutout - the fourth of the season for the Tiger women's team.

Trinity will host Rhodes to finish off a weekend of conference play at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning.  The game time was moved up from the originally scheduled time.
