Trinity Scores 12 in Win at Schreiner Friday

 

Kerrville, Texas - The Tiger women's soccer team raced to a 12-2 victory over Schreiner University on Friday evening.

Trinity (5-3) led 7-1 at the half, reaching a single game season high in the opening 45 minutes.  The Tigers added five more goals to close out the game in the second half.

Jennifer Wray and Michelle Grambeau teamed up for the first two goals of the day, scoring just 17 seconds apart in the eighth minute of play.  Wray opened the scoring at 7:18, finding the back of the net on a corner kick by Grambeau. 

Grambeau then scored at 7:35 to make it 2-0, and added two more assists in the game to tie her career high, and tie for the fourth-most in school history for a single game.

Alex Leamy came off the bench to score a hat trick in the game, scoring once in the 38th minute, and then netting consecutive goals just 79 seconds apart in the second half. 

Also scoring in the first half were Brianna Young, Danika Wright, Bekah Gabay, and Jasmine Martin.  Gabay also had an assist in the game, while Young added a second goal in the 86th minute - the final score of the game.

Jordan Azar and Ashley Pierce scored second half goals for the Tigers, and Azar also had two assists in the second period.  Also recording an assist was Clare Wilmore.

Trinity returns home tonight, but will be back on the road on Sunday, facing Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas.
