| Atlanta, Georgia
- Trinity's women's soccer team finished off a weekend of SCAC
play at Oglethorpe on Sunday, securing a 10-0 win in the team's top
offensive performance of the year.
Trinity (12-3-1, 7-0-1) led 7-0 at the half, scoring all seven goals
in the first 27:30 of the period against the Stormy Petrels.
The Tigers out-shot Oglethorpe 40-0 in the game.
Brianna Young and Michelle Grambeau BOTH had
hat tricks in the game, while Jennifer Wray tied her own SCAC and
school record.
Grambeau scored all three of her goals in the
first 16 minutes of play, including the eventual game-winner in the
seventh minute. Young had two of her three goals in the first
half, twice following goals by Grambeau. Both hat tricks were
the first of each player's career.
Jennifer Wray added two goals in the first
half for the Tigers, as well as recording four assists in the game.
The four assists ties the school and conference record for a single
game - a mark she also tied in the 2005 season against Millsaps.
Danika Wright and Grace Rizza added goals for
Trinity, while Alex Leamy and Nicole Handy also had assists.
Young had one assist to go with her three goals.
Jennifer Fifield and Alexandra Blake combined
for the shutout, which was the eighth of the year for the Tiger
team.
Trinity returns home on Friday to face
Southwestern in a game that will decide the 2007 SCAC Championship.
Trinity can win the title with a win or a tie in the game, while
Southwestern needs a win to secure the SCAC crown. |
