Trinity's women's tennis team lost a 7-2 match at Division II St.
Edward's University on Friday afternoon.
Trinity (1-2) won one of
three doubles matches to fall behind early, then managed just one
more win in the singles competition.
Megan Jackson and Melissa
Weinnig won for the second straight time at No. 3 doubles, taking a
narrow 9-8 win against Anne Ruscoe and Heather Brien of St.
Edward's.
Katie Griffith took a 6-2,
6-3 win at No. 2 singles for the only other Tiger point, while
first-year Kassie Seger lost her first singles match. Seger
started off with wins over Tarleton State and Lee College in
singles, but fell 0-6, 3-6 on Friday.
Trinity will make its 2009
home debut tomorrow afternoon at Delavan Tennis Stadium, hosting the
University of Incarnate Word.
