Tiger Women Fall at St. Edward's

Austin, Texas - Trinity's women's tennis team lost a 7-2 match at Division II St. Edward's University on Friday afternoon.

Trinity (1-2) won one of three doubles matches to fall behind early, then managed just one more win in the singles competition.

Megan Jackson and Melissa Weinnig won for the second straight time at No. 3 doubles, taking a narrow 9-8 win against Anne Ruscoe and Heather Brien of St. Edward's.

Katie Griffith took a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles for the only other Tiger point, while first-year Kassie Seger lost her first singles match.  Seger started off with wins over Tarleton State and Lee College in singles, but fell 0-6, 3-6 on Friday.

Trinity will make its 2009 home debut tomorrow afternoon at Delavan Tennis Stadium, hosting the University of Incarnate Word.
