- Trinity senior
midfielder Brianna Young scored a goal in the 19th minute as the
fifth-ranked Tigers remained undefeated with a 1-0 SCAC win over the
Millsaps Majors Sunday afternoon.
Trinity, which registered its
eighth shutout of the campaign, improved to 9-0-0 and 2-0-0 SCAC.
Millsaps is 6-4-3 and 1-3-2 SCAC.
Junior midfielder Danika Wright
fired a shot which was saved by the Millsaps goalkeeper. Young then
scored on the rebound, marking her fifth game-winner of the season.
Young, who scored the
game-winner in Trinity’s 3-0 SCAC victory over Birmingham-Southern
last Friday in Alabama, leads the Tigers with seven goals and six
assists for 20 points.
The Tigers led the Majors 14-3
in shots, and 5-1 in shots on goal. Trinity held a 4-2 edge in
corner kicks.
Trinity returns home for two
SCAC games next weekend. The Tigers will host Centre at 6 p.m.
Friday, and DePauw at noon next Sunday. |
