Trinity Goalkeeper Earns SCAC Player of the Week Award

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers first-year goalkeeper Katie Garrett of Cleburne, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Garrett, who has made four starts – with four shutouts  in as many games this season for the 13th-ranked Tigers -  recorded a career-high seven saves against UT-Tyler last Friday. The Tigers,  undefeated at 4-0-0, beat the Patriots 4-0 in a home game. Garrett added another save in last Sunday’s 4-0 victory over UT-Dallas.

In nearly 400 minutes of play, Garrett has accounted for 12 saves.

Trinity begins its SCAC campaign Friday with Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and then travels to Irving Sunday for a non-conference matchup with the University of Dallas.
