San Antonio -
Trinity University Tigers first-year goalkeeper Katie Garrett of
Cleburne, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference Women’s Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Garrett, who has made four
starts – with four shutouts in as many games this season for the 13th-ranked
Tigers - recorded a career-high seven saves against UT-Tyler last
Friday. The Tigers, undefeated at 4-0-0, beat the Patriots 4-0 in a
home game. Garrett added another save in last Sunday’s 4-0 victory over
In nearly 400 minutes of play,
Garrett has accounted for 12 saves.
Trinity begins its SCAC campaign
Friday with Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and then travels to Irving
Sunday for a non-conference matchup with the University of Dallas.
