San Antonio -
Lindsay Euers, a first-year defensive
midfielder from Austin, Texas (Bowie), has been named the Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the
Week.
Euers spearheaded
a staunch Tiger defense which helped Trinity earn a pair of tough
home wins over Centre and DePauw last weekend. Trinity beat its SCAC
rivals by scores of 2-1, allowing only 10 total shots in the two games.
The 5-foot-5 Euers
has started all 11 games for Trinity, and the defense has given up just
three goals this season, posting eight shutouts.
Trinity –
undefeated at 11-0-0 and 4-0-0 SCAC - is now ranked No. 4 in the nation
by both NCAA Division III polls. The Tigers rose to fourth in the
National Soccer Coaches Association rankings, from sixth, and improved
in the d3soccer.com poll from No. 5.
The Tigers will
host Southwestern University in an SCAC game at 6 p.m. Saturday. |
