San Antonio -
Trinity's women's tennis team won for the third straight time on
Saturday afternoon, defeating Austin College 8-1 at Delavan Tennis
Stadium.
Trinity (11-12) defeated
Southwestern by the same score earlier in the day. Against
Austin, Trinity won all three doubles matches, then took five of the
six singles contests. Combined for both matches, the Tigers
lost just once in singles and once in doubles on Saturday, wrapping
up the team's regular season home schedule.
Krista Melish won her
team-high 13th singles match of the season against Austin, taking
her record in No. 2 singles to 2-1 in 2007.
The three-game win streak is
the first for Trinity since early March. The Tigers will
conclude the regular season schedule with a match against
Hardin-Simmons University at 9:30 a.m. next Saturday in Abilene,
Texas.
