Trinity's women's tennis team swept Millsaps College 9-0 on Friday
afternoon at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Championships.
Trinity (13-12) is opening
defense of the SCAC title, and comes into the tournament as the No.
3 seed behind DePauw and Sewanee.
Heather Naeher and Alicia
Hunt won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles, and Hunt also won 6-0, 6-0 in her
singles match from the No. 2 position in the lineup.
Hayley Dittus and Krista
Melish teamed up to win No. 1 doubles, and both players also won in
singles play. Dittus was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles,
while Melish won 8-3 at No. 4.
Trinity will take on top
seed DePauw tomorrow for the right to play for the SCAC
Championship. Last year, the two teams split the title after
the final match could not be finished.
