Waco, Texas -
Trinity's women's tennis team lost for the first time in school
history at the SCAC Championships, ending up on the wrong end of a
9-0 match against top seed DePauw University on Saturday.
Trinity (13-13) was swept
for the second time this season and just the third time since the
start of last season.
Alicia Hunt and Heather
Naeher lost 8-5 at No. 3 doubles, and Krista Melish nearly kept
Trinity from being shut out by taking her singles match to a third
set. Melish ended up losing 4-6, 6-4, 12-14 in that No. 4
singles match.
Trinity will face Rhodes in
the Third/Fourth Place Match tomorrow morning.
