San Antonio - Trinity's women's tennis team snapped a four-match losing streak with a 7-2 victory over the University of Incarnate Word on Friday.

Trinity (9-12) previously lost seven of its last eight matches, but snapped out of that funk with a win over the Division II Cardinals on Friday.

The Tigers won five out of six singles matches, as well as two of three doubles competitions.

First-year Krista Melish won her team-best 11th singles match of the season with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles.  Hayley Dittus and Alicia Hunt also earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, bringing their season win totals to 10 (in singles play).

Dittus and Melish improved to 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while Alicia Hunt and Heather Naeher moved to 2-0 with a win in the No. 3 doubles position.

Trinity's match with Tyler Junior College, scheduled for tomorrow, has been cancelled.  The Tigers will wrap up the regular season home schedule with a doubleheader against Southwestern University and Austin College on Saturday, April 14.
