Trinity Rebounds With Win Over Patriots Saturday

 

San Antonio - Trinity's women's tennis team rebounded from yesterday's loss with an 8-1 win over the University of Texas-Tyler on Saturday. 

Trinity (5-5) improves to 4-0 against Division III opponents this season.  Hayley Dittus and Krista Melish were beaten 8-6 at No. 1 doubles for the only lost point of the match for the Tigers, but both players bounced back with solid wins in singles play.

Dittus improved to 7-2 on the season with a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles, while Melish won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles to even her season record at 5-5.

Renae Wright, who was part of Trinity's winning doubles team in yesterday's match, teamed with Heather Naeher for the first time this season at No. 3 doubles, resulting in an 8-1 win.

Melissa Weinnig scored the most lopsided win of the day, winning 6-0, 6-0 to improve to 4-2 in singles play this season. 

The Tigers will face Schreiner University later this afternoon.  Trinity is currently 5-0 at home this season.
