Trinity Shut out by Top-Ranked Generals Sunday

San Antonio - Trinity's women's tennis team was blanked by top-ranked Washington & Lee University on Sunday morning in one of the final matches of the Fab Five Women's Tennis Tournament.

Trinity (8-11) has lost six of its last seven matches, but was shut out for the first time all season.  The Tigers were last shut out in the 2006 season opener against Tarleton State University.

The Tigers, ranked 19th nationally, lost in straight sets in all singles and doubles matches.  After winning six straight singles matches, Alicia Hunt lost for the third straight time on Sunday.

First-year Krista Melish was 2-0 in singles matches in this Trinity-hosted tournament, but she also fell at No. 3 singles.

Trinity will wrap up the tournament with a match against Gustavus Adolphus College on Tuesday afternoon.  The Tigers will then travel across the street on Friday to play the University of Incarnate Word, followed by a home contest against Tyler Junior College on Saturday.
