San Antonio - The Trinity University Tigers women’s tennis team shut out the Whitman College (Wash.) Missionaries 9-0 Wednesday in a dual match at Delavan tennis Stadium.

Trinity, ranked No. 11 in the NCAA Division III, improved to 6-2. The Tigers will compete in California this weekend, meeting No. 10 Redlands (at Redlands) Saturday and No. 8 Pomona-Pitzer Sunday at Claremont.

The seventh-ranked Trinity men (7-3) will play Friday and Saturday at the Stag Hen Classic at Claremont, Calif.

Both teams return home Wednesday, March 26 to host SCAC opponent Birmingham-Southern College.
